New & Prospective Members
How to Join: Youth
Candidates of the Order are chosen through an annual election by their peers in their troop. In order to be eligible, a Scout must:
Be a registered member of the BSA program.
Hold the First Class rank in a BSA troop, the Ordinary rank in a Sea Scout ship, or the Discovery award in a Venturing crew, at a minimum.
After registration with a unit, have experienced fifteen days and nights of Scout camping during the two-year period prior to the election. The fifteen days and nights must include one, but no more than one, long-term camp consisting of six consecutive days and five nights of resident camping, approved and under the auspices and standards of the Boy Scouts of America. The remainder of the camping must be overnight, weekend, or other short-term camps.
Just Been Elected?
Congratulations! Your election has marked the beginning of your journey as an Arrowmen. This pathway to cheerful service will lead you to craft an adventure. You are welcome to join us at our meetings and events, and will be able to shadow a current member to help you get to know the other Chapter members. You have eighteen months following your election to complete your Induction.
The Lodge holds four Induction weekends throughout the year. You'll spend a weekend learning about the Order, meeting your new Brothers, and helping out at a council camp. After your Induction, you are entitled to all the rights and privileges of the Order of the Arrow.
How to Join: Adults
Adults (age 21 or older) who are registered in the BSA and meet the camping requirements may be selected following nomination to the lodge adult selection committee. Adult selection is based on their ability to perform the necessary functions to help the Order fulfill its purpose, and is not for recognition of service, including current or prior positions. Selected adults must be an asset to the Order because of demonstrated abilities, and must provide a positive example for the growth and development of the youth members of the lodge.
But That's Not All...
As you continue your journey, you'll get the chance to hold an office in the chapter, lodge, or higher.
Additionally, you can expand your understanding of the Order by sealing your membership through the Brotherhood ceremony.
